Creating the Next Generation of Change Agents

Summary

I have always envisioned a place where young ladies can find their voice.  A few years ago, I realized that the one key item that I, and many women across the globe, could use more of is confidence.  I know two things for certain: growing up is not always easy and it never stops.

Fortunately, I was nurtured by loving and supportive women and I carry their love and guidance with me everyday.  However, I didn’t take the time to form relationships beyond my immediate circle.   In my assessment if I had a mentor, I — and other young ladies — would be have accomplished even more.  To be candid, I didn’t know how to go about accomplishing this and I didn’t have the confidence to ask.

This is the driving force behind the Brooklyn Legends Mentorship Program.  I have assembled a diverse and talented team to help shape this program, enlist the resources needed to successful and make a lasting impact on the lives of young women and girls.

Mission

Brooklyn Legends Mentorship Program was created to

• Brooklyn Legends Mentorship Program will bridge the confidence gap for academically gifted young ladies, between 15-18 years old, who come from underrepresented groups.
• Our Program will inspire, nurture, shape and encourage young ladies to have a vision, find their voice and develop skills that will allow them to think big and become effective leaders in the world.

Vision

• Through exposure to business leaders, community advocates and visionaries, the Brooklyn Legends Mentorship Program will equip a diverse group of talented young women with the confidence and skills they need to be thought leaders and change agents in their communities.  Their progress will, in turn, inspire their peers to want to do the same.
